How it started
ISN was launched in 2002 by Chris Schuld and Dan Huber, who wanted to make it easier for home inspectors to grow their businesses through the power of modern software.
How it’s going
Today, ISN is America’s most popular business software suite for home inspectors. We process over two million inspections every year – accounting for nearly a quarter of all homes sold in the United States – and we support inspection businesses of all sizes.
Where we’re headed
ISN became part of the Porch house of brands in 2021, and we’ve been hard at work expanding our technology’s features and functionality – and its ability to integrate with your favorite software – ever since. In 2023, we launched ISN’s first native report writer.
We care about the inspection community and are always looking to improve on our software with your valued feedback. Our goal is to make the lives of inspectors easier and to help them grow their businesses.
Our All-Star Team
Joshua Steffan
Joshua is a general management executive specializing in SaaS product strategy with over 15 years of experience leading digital businesses with revenue of over $200 million. Joshua has worked with both ISN and Porch since 2020, bringing his successful track record of accelerating growth with responsibility for Product, User Experience, Engineering, Operations, Analytics, Marketing and Sales. Prior to joining ISN, Joshua was the COO and General Manager of Home Bay. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, as well as a BS in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University. Joshua has also completed the Innovation Acceleration Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and the Advanced Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership. He lives in Tennessee with his wife and children.
Gus Luna
Gus Luna was born and raised in Northern California, where he attended Cal State University, Chico. Gus joined Porch in 2015 and has led ISN’s sales efforts since 2017. He’s based in Seattle, and in his free time, he enjoys food, traveling and aerial drone photography.
Sydney Honda
Sydney Honda is ISN’s Senior Technical Support Manager. She’s been with ISN for five years. Prior to ISN, she worked at a startup providing on-demand home services.
Aaron Ziomek
Aaron “AZ” Ziomek is Head of Inspector Success, spanning customer support, training, onboarding, account management, and technical support. Prior to this role, AZ spent 11 years in sales and operations at a major telecom provider, supporting consumer and SMB customers before moving on to become General Manager of America’s Call Center. As Head of Inspector Success, AZ’s top priority is making it easy for customers to do business with ISN by removing obstacles, simplifying operations, and creating strategic partnerships that add to the value ISN already provides to its customers. AZ enjoys gardening, shooting, golf, and hockey (he is an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan).
Janaya Fix
Janaya brings over 20 years of experience in the technology industry to her work at ISN. Her extensive product management expertise and operational skillset inform her efforts to drive amazing results for ISN customers every day. She previously served as the Head of Product Management at MainStem Inc., and has also worked at global tech companies like Zillow and CDK Digital. Before becoming a product leader, Janaya served n the U.S. Army as a Deployment Specialist, which instilled a tenacious work ethic and an ability to adapt and thrive in challenging environments. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and working on her first novel.
Alex Gonzalez-Vinas
Alex is an entrepreneurial engineering director with over 15 years of experience in web application and software development. Alex thrives on tackling challenging assignments and transforming ideas into reality. Most recently, Alex served as Director of Engineering and principal developer in the creation of a first-of-its-kind identity and Access Management Solution for multi-service providers (MSPs). Prior to that, he was part of the core team developing DadeSystems’ AI-Based Advanced Cash Application/AR automation solution for B2B that has since been acquired by Versapay. Alex is comfortable working in multiple programming and scripting languages, understands the complexities of hardware and software, and how to translate business needs to the technical realm. He lives in Miami with his wife and 2 children. In his spare time he can be found perfecting his reef tanks, volunteering at church, and devoting time to his family.
Adam Singer
Adam Singer has worked with home inspectors for the past 18 years and has a passion for helping them tap into the power of software to grow their businesses and save time so they can spend more time with their families. Adam is based in the Midwest and enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and watching the Philadelphia Eagles win games.
Ashley Brown
Ashley Brown was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and joined Porch in 2023. With over 20 years of rich experience in leadership roles at both Fortune 50 companies and startups, Ashley brings a unique blend of skills in marketing, public relations, and digital strategy. His proven expertise in scaling operations and launching innovative marketing campaigns helps ISN expand our reach and enhance our services. He lives in Seattle, WA and enjoys swimming, racquetball, and gardening.
